Client Brief

In to the world of paper maché, this was a fun and challenging one. I started on some prototypes to test structure and strength to find out how many layers of paper I would need and the best glueing technique. By the time we got round to shooting I had made a whole solar system of planets! and all I can say is It was very cathartic watching all that paper maché get blown to pieces.

The director wanted a “crafty’” style that looked like someone had put a lot of love in to making it and that’s what I did. I really enjoyed the world building, designing all the characters homes and making narrative for all the paper people. I chose bright Primary and Secondary colours to distance it from looking like earth and to make it all the more heart breaking to see our little paper guys suffer.
